Fringe or Bangs-depends on where you live

Kristy wanted bangs
and this was a big step for her....
Before....
The big step....
Throw in a few high-lights
and she loved what I did...
I am pleased with the results also...
Then she put on a little make-up
for the complete look...
Strike a pose...

Nothing to do with hair..I finally met some Osmonds today!

They were at Layton, Utah today at Wal-Mart
signing their new CD.
These boys were armed with Sharpies,
and know how to use them...LOL
If you look close, you can see them.
Jimmy, me (Janette), Merrill, my sister Linda and Jay.
My sister has met them before but this was my first time.
I was real nervous and so excited.
I took these following pictures....

Happy Birthday Dad!!! I miss you always.

This is one of the last pictures I took of my dad back in 2001 and the last time I saw him alive.
He passed away in 2010.
He put me through beauty college back in 1984-1985
I had also cut his hair in this picture.
Now I am getting back on track to working as a Cosmetologist again.
Dad (David) used to tell me:
"If you enjoy your job, you'll never have to work another day in your life."
I remember him telling me that when I was a teen.
I'm sure it was someone Else's quote but it is a good one.

The Pony Tail Perm

The pony tail perm works best on long thick hair.
I learned how to do this perm back in the 80's
the first time I went to beauty school.
I did this for fun one day at school cause no one ever heard about it.
I hadn't done it in years. It works best to section it off like a regular perm to stay organized.
Then you section the hair starting at the bottom doing about one inch squares using small hair bands but loosely.
When it's time to do the rods, start at the bottom.
Depending on the thickness on the hair, section the hair again doing the spiral method of wrapping. I did 2 rods per one inch section.
This does take awhile but it's fun.

That is alot of perm rods!
This mannequin has synthetic hair so I let it air dry overnight.
You can kind of get the idea of the curl.

I was just playing around with a simple hairstyle and flower.
